39 photo updates...

6 Attachment(s)
Well June and July I got a few things done, slow but sure. Dropped in the Walt Dupont flathead and finished the 3 speed with the help of Mac vanpelts "In's and out's":D Gene Drake got the rearend set up with 3.54's and a proper tourqe tube.

Again, I can't say enough about the cab and frame. It was rough. Ashley Pike and crew @ Maaco in Portland made it happen. The carb was freshened up by Ken in C.T.

Some things are worth the wait. Hope to have this thing road worthy by next spring, with some help from the barn of course!!

Glad you like the pic's, it's been fun. The cab and the bed will be folkstone gray with black fenders and running boards. The paint sceme will be like the 40's P/U on the 2010/11 32-48 Dennis Carpenter catalog.

I debated on keeping and restoring/rebuilding the originals. ECI had a nice kit that addapted F150 rotors to my stock spindles. As you could see by the photos, I have a 77 F150 and rotors from NAPA are resonable/plentiful.

Upgrading the rears to lincoln bendix drums

Mike I actually just straightned this out looking for a certain wrench I could not find, that I blamed on my nephew and later apologized when I found it in a "bolt can"/parts box:o

Where did you get that engine/trans paint? Iwas looking for something a little brighter than the POR15 Ford green.

When Walt painted the motor he used Dupli-color ceramic engine enamel. Racing green DE1644. I used the rest on the trans, looks good against the folkstone grey.

Good one B-O-B:D

Looks really nice. I remember when you first posted your truck, making great progress. Frame fix, engine, paint... wow!

Are you not running wide fives on your truck?

Good choice on the 3:54. I've been thinking of doing a 3:25 with my stump puller 4 speed.

Very nice I bet you can't wait to drive it. I know I could not. Congrads.

Re: 39 photo updates...

The wide fives have too many area's that have serious corrosion. I had one rim lightly bead blasted and I made my decision from a safety stand point.

Correct or not, I went with a nice set of rims, 5 1/2 bolt circle and 3" WW Coker classics. Will post more pics late Oct, thank's Tinker.

You know sometimes when I look @ my avitar it look's like a panel from that left hand shot. It was an apple orchard stakebed from vermont. I am going with a 1/2 ton wood floor bed.

Frank, not that I go to alot of cruises or shows, but I do not see a lot of the early Ford panels in new england.
