South Wind update Last time tested I took vacuum from the wiper port that was Effie I now have the proper installation kit under the carb. started engine pulled the knob out and as advertised about 90 secants it started, fan turned on and its blowing just a whisker at 200 degrees Wow. I have not drilled the two firewall holes yet cause my wrist & drill dont get along, my son will do it. I want this next to the 3 door heater. I don't think gas mileage will suffer too much & I don't care the big thing is the vacuum line to Carb. gets hot THAT should stop the nasty carb. ice problem I have Me Happy

Re: South Wind update Ford put exhaust gas passage through the intake manifold and around the base of the Carburetor to stop icing. If there is icing open these passages ways, they usually get blocked up. The South Wind fan should move a lot of air.

No wheat pennies those intake passages are clean (when we rebuilt it was thermo cleaned & blasted) also the manifold heat riser works fine My 54 F900 with 391 FT Ice's just as bad gotta live with it Terry |
Re: South Wind update That 391FT/FE is a strong one. Probably much easier to get parts for than the old Big Job Lincoln Ys. Ford used to put those water cooled spacer plates on the FEs but I don't have a lot of experience with the FTs.
