Stabilizer Bar To Frame bushings - 1959 - 1964

Does anyone know if the 1959-specific B9MM-5484-A bushing will crossover to the later 1960+ bushings? I can find plently of B9A-5493-B bushings for sale, but the B9MM-5484-A bushings are rare as hen's teeth and pricey too.

Thank You,

ok, I measured the diameter of the sway bar in my 1959 Mercury Monterey. It measures right at 7/8" (.875). Now I'm on the hunt for a sway bar bushing that will work.

Don’t know if it will help, but here’s a chart. I’m not a big fan of hard bushings (I’ve had to many squeak, dispite what they say) but a start.

OK, I decided to take the old bushings off the car. They are definitely unique-looking bushings. They are teardrop shaped rather than the normal semi-circle type shape. Does anyone with earlier makes/models recall similarly shaped sway bar bushings?

Old Bushing - Obvously worn out...

In case anyone was wondering....This is the semi-circle shape of most modern sway bar bushings....

Thanks, I checked this chart out. It has good specs for IDing bushings, although I too do not like the hard bushings and prefer regular rubber bushings. Evidently the bushings on my 1959 Mercury Monterey are not shaped like a normal sway bushing.

Here's some similarly shaped bushings for a later Mercury/Lincolns. It seems at least these are the right shape. I might try to get these to work. The engineering part number for 1959 Mercury Monterey is B9MM-5484-A wich I cannot find anywhere.

I have a couple of boxes of sway bar bushings but don't remember the diameter. UPDATE - I checked and nope, too big. sorry.
