Testing Vacuum wipers at the work bench

I've been working on several vacuum wipers recently. Time to give them a test and tweak. Anybody have a suggestion for a cost effective vacuum source at my work bench?

you could get a vacuum pump from Hazard Freight. That might work

if you have a air compressor and can tolerate the noise a venturi vacuum pump is cost effective to buy new.
yYou could go to the you pull it junkyard and search the cars for booster pump.
some cars mostly european had a small vacuum pump for cruise control.
the cheapest is a piece of hose to suck on with your mouth.
And of course running gasoline engine usually can supply vacuum.
And the hand vacuum pumps.
A distributor machine usually has a adjustable vacuum pump too.

I use my vacuum pump that I bought for casting work. Search on Google or Amazon to find a low cost one.

Could you not just run a rubber hose from the manifold and hold the wiper in your hand while the car is running?

Rubber hose to mouth?

The intake on an air compressor might work, would probably need a means to regulate it.

If you have a vacuum gauge you can test all the ideas that people have come up with. I don't think a mouth is a good tool for this application.

The 12-volt pumps for power brake vacuum are generally equivalent to the manifold air pressure of an automobile engine. They shouldn't break the bank on price. A mighty vacuum hand pump might work but your hand would get tired.

I have used one of the hand vacuum pumps for checking automotive vacuum controls. Just pump away and slowly the wiper will stroke and return.
