Door close rings on 34 Tudor

Going to put a pair of door pull ring on inside my 34. Are they screwed in with sheet metal screws and where should they be placed on the door?

I used riv-nuts instead of sheet metal screws on my car as I believe the fasteners will have a better chance of staying tight under the load of pulling the door shut.

Can't say where to put them; but maybe about the same place the grab bar is on deluxe garnish.

There were D nuts on the inner door skin. NAPA used to sell rivet nuts and you crimp them by tightening the allen bolt.Harbor Freight sell a rivet nut kit BUT the nuts are aluminum. The force of pulling might compromise the threads? Only 33's had them. Here is a pic of an original '33.

Yes I know the 33 had them and 34 didn’t. Figured it was better then pulling on door handle. The straps were not there when I got the car. The rivets sound like good idea. Thanks.

34 had pull rope cords or early Std had pull built into the garnish

Perhaps mine was an exception but no rope pulls. Serial number indicates within the first 400 built. Standard coupe, all original...

Does the door pull ring bolts go underneath the window trim or right below the trim?

The part of the bracket with the 2 screw attachment holes that it pivots on is concealed by the lip of the garnish moulding. Maybe a member here with a 33 can give you a precise location of where to fix the rivet nuts (if that is what you use). Here is a pic of the drivers door on a tudor I had with the panel installed .It was from a LBB kit that I bought in Nov 2016. I later installed the ring.
I just realized that if your car is a Deluxe the garnish is different . The bracket and ring will have to be lower.
