Flathead 8ba pcs valve

Hello

Ford flathead 8ba
With 2 Stromberg carburetors
Does the pcv valve have to be connected to both carburetors or just one?
Thanks for reply

Re: Flathead 8ba pcs valve

The PCV will work perfectly if its located anyplace below the carburetors throttle plates.
You only need to have one connection overall its best anyplace in the intake plenum to get the vacuum signal needed for the PCV to work.

If you are adding a PCV to a flathead make sure you are pulling from the correct port. I have seen some PCV installations on a flathead that resulted in pulling dusty outside air into the oil pan slot, achieving the opposite of the desired goal.

Will this work

Mount the vacuum base on one carburettor. Connect the pvc valve to this vacuum base?
Does it matter which of the carburetors I connect?
Will use Offenhauser 1075 intake

Re: Flathead 8ba pcs valve

Found a guy who makes spacers for Stromberg97
thinking 1" or 4" and connect pcv valve to spacer.
Could this be a better choice?

That would work perfectly.

I wish I could post pictures but sadly I'm a dinosaur. I have done quite a few Flathead s with a PCV and I think how we do it not only looks good but works great.

If you can send 'em in an email, maybe you should send them to someone who can post them. They sure sound like something I'd like to see. Maybe one of the guys who have mastered the art of posting them large sized on this forum ("petehoovie" or "mercman from oz", etc.) will help. "V8Coopman" used to do it for other folks, but alas, he's been excused from the task. As a last resort, you can send them to me : "[email protected]".

Thanks Tubman. I need to add the 3 FH intakes in the pictures plus several others were built for me by Bob at Baxter Ford Parts in Lawrence Kansas. The intakes are all Offenhauser.

On an 8BA use the road draft tube hole, just like Krylon32 did:

Re: Flathead 8ba pcs valve

Here's a pretty comprehensive thread about flathead PCV systems that was put together by our own "V8Coopman" a few years ago I suggest that anyone contemplating a PVC system review it before jumping in with both feet.
