27 T coupe B pillar broken screws

2 Attachment(s)
I have a 27 T coupe, I am restoring. I am working on the cover plate covering the front of the B pillar, that holds the door latch striker. All of the face screws in this cover plate were broken off in the B pillar. I cannot get to the screw because they are broken off inside the cover plate spacers. I am desperate to get these old screws out and a suitable method to replace the screws and nuts that hold them in. they look to be 10/32 screws or something familiar.
Also it looks like there is NO access to the back side of the B pillar at the top, because the window area of the body covers the back of the B pillar, and I am reluctant to pull the body apart there so not even a press-nut can be installed at this point without sticking out into where the window gasket goes to hold the quarter window

Re: 27 T coupe B pillar broken screws

Most machine screw fasteners break due to the corrosion that is locking them in the threads. They may be 10-32 but Ford also used 12-24 screws in that time frame.

Heat the screw shank up to over boiling point (250 degrees F) and then quench with water to help break the corrosion up. If that doesn't work the go hotter with it till it finally lets go. Use a needle nose vice grip to grab the shank if possible or weld something to it if possible.

If these are wood screws then that will take a different tack on removal.
