Oil return pipe offset? The two sealing surfaces on the oil return pipe have an offset because the sealing surface on the valve cover is farther away from the cylinder centerline than the sealing surface on the block. Does anyone know, or have a print that shows, what that offset is? I need to rebraze a leaking tube and would like to build a jig to hold it while I do so.
I'm concerned about the later (longer) oil return pipe. I've seen three numbers for this - A6645, A6647 and A6648. Thanks a million. JayJay |
Re: Oil return pipe offset? It can be cleaned, prepped and the joint soldered in place using the engine as the jig.

Re: Oil return pipe offset? Jay here's one I made to check for leaks and a jig to solder ,I show it in video, will measure the off set later this afternoon

Re: Oil return pipe offset? Good one Randall. What was the distance off set you used?
|
Re: Oil return pipe offset? 5/8”. Thanks

Re: Oil return pipe offset? Don’t forget about the distance, bolt hole to bolt hole !

Re: Oil return pipe offset? How about using a junk block and side cover for a jig?

Re: Oil return pipe offset? 5/8". Thanks.

Re: Oil return pipe offset? We have plenty of junk blocks here in Maine. :)

Re: Oil return pipe offset? Put a straight edge on the side cover opening down to the block opening and measure it. Simples.
