1937 Temp sender & service replacement head 1 Attachment(s)
I just installed a fresh engine in my 1937 Ford. This is a daily driver car. The issue that came up is the engine has service replacement heads. The head does not allow the temp sender bulb to bottom out. It will pass straight through the head. I just caught this. Is there anything I can do, other than pull the head off and put on a Ford script head? I'm trying to save $90.00 on head gaskets.

Seth,You need the adapter that has pipe thread for the head and a seat for the bulb. John Wolf in OH has those.
Here is a pic of it. |

You can also drill out a Weatherhead fitting available from NAPA.

Re: 1937 Temp sender & service replacement head Or you can e-mail Fred at Southside Obsolete to see if he has one of those adapters. Deuce-lover’s picture above shows the part number.
