Hi.
I'm trying to repair my cowl ('29) with parts from another.
Is it possible to get rivets to re-attach the subrail extensions, and connect the sides to the firewall?
I have catalogs for snyders and mikes, and only frame rivets are listed. What about these smaller sizes?

JayCee Rivets. But you so have to buy a box…usually 100.
Have to know your sizes and type head.

Those are likely 3/16" brazier head types. Most of the subframe parts were joined with those on the steel framed car bodies. 3/16" round heads are also available from model A sources. Ford used steel rivets for body and frame. I usually buy the longest size and then cut them down for shorter applications

Try McMaster-Carr. They are a great source for hardware of all types and sizes.

I have bought rivets from the outfit listed below.
They have a large assortment of rivets, tools, and supplies. A good company to work with.

Big Flats Rivet used to be the go to source for antique Ford rivet types but they closed shop last January and retired.

Hanson is a larger scale outfit so a person has to know what they are looking for with them. The brazier head rivets can also be referred to as oval head or truss head types so be aware. Most of the early Ford parts sources stock rivets for model As. They also have some tooling. ATS is an aircraft tool source but a lot of what they have is geared toward aircraft work and can get expensive. I bought that stuff a long time ago when it was a lot less expensive. They have good prices on Cleco fasteners and clamps. I use them for a lot of different purposes. Working sheet metal is one. I use the little clamps to hold headliners to the pinch welds when installing them. They make shop life a little easier.

keep in mind you need a lot of heat and of course the tools on both sides of the rivet
