16' inner tubes

i picked up some used 600x16 tires and plan on mounting them on 16"x4 1/2"rims with 600x16" tractor (implement tires) inner tubes, will this work?

I don't see why not.

Re: 16' inner tubes

I do a lot of tire and tube work and have learned to buy tubes only from agricultural outlets as they are thicker material. I have been working on a balloon tire bike project. Ordered 2 tires and tubes. One tube blew up at about 30 lbs so I put a patch on one of the old tubes that came from a tire marked 'A war tire-made from regenerated rubber'. It was maybe twice as thick and is holding it's own.

I always use tractor tubes; they are of heavier material, and the valve stems are correct size for early Ford rims

That is exactly what our local Farm Supply tire shop replaced a tube in our '36 PU with. Going on two years ago. A farm implement tube. And that sucker is a LOT heavier made tube than the car type tube that came out!
