Re: 39’ Coil Location ?

It really depends on what distributor you are using. What is wrong with the stock location with a Skip Haney coil?

Ok, don’t hate me too bad.
Also replacing the original 6V Distributor with a Mallory Unilite Electronic 12V.

If you're using a standard cylindrical coil you could use an 8ba type coil bracket.

You can mount it anywhere with a store-bought ready-made kit for ~$60. Or one fashioned from a nice piece of pine scrap. :)

Re: 39’ Coil Location ?

So D. Carpenter has a coil mount for 48’-53’ truck & 49’-53’ car.
#8BA-12043
Unfortunately my Puter at the moment , is not letting me post a picture of mount.
Looks like it attaches to pass side front head bolts.
Will this also bolt up to our 39’ head bolts ?
T/Y much.
Stretch

Re: 39’ Coil Location ?

The 8BA and 8RT have dedicated bolt holes for the coil bracket which the early heads do not have.
