Does any one know where I can still get an MSD distributor for a customers flathead MSD 8351 or a quality unit that will replace the electronic unit fitted that failed.(not an MSD unit)
Thanks Lawrie

Re: MSD distributor

I see Outlaw Speed in Australia stock some MSD distributor stuff. You may be lucky here.

They list an 8BA MSD all in one ready to run distributor.
Not too sure about their proprietary electronics internal but their pickup coil and reluctor is old Chrysler.
I pulled their electronics and used a GM HEI brain and later model E-coil mounted externally. The really smart thing to do would be to lock out the advance(s) [vacuum and mechanical] and use MSD's programmable control unit with a MAP sensor.
Having said that, I travel a lot in that old Ford and needed to be able to fix it at NAPA or at a wreaking yard.
Old school paranoia I guess
