Re: 39/41 rear wheel spats Are we asking about "fender skirts"?
|
Re: 39/41 rear wheel spats hey 42merc spats/ skirts same thing depends where you are otherwise known as rear wheel covers
|
Re: 39/41 rear wheel spats Now I am getting confused; I thought "wheel covers" were those fancy "hubcaps" that snapped into the wheel rim and covered the entire inside of the wheel.

Re: 39/41 rear wheel spats In my part of the world, the Western US, 'Spats' were a white metal cover that attached to the wheel, extending from the rim edge to a mid point on the wheel. They were commonly used during the mid '40's through the mid '50' in lieu of white side walls. I have a nice set of four, 16".
I have a pix in my file, for some unknown reason it would not down load. |
Re: 39/41 rear wheel spats Interesting. What does the front screw attach to? I had a Foxcraft (I think) come off in traffic and had to rework the front mounts.
My front mounts are now like the back ones, but there is not a lot of room there, so enquiring minds need to know my options.... |
