Trans fluid on driveway

My transmission drips a couple tablespoons after a drive and seems to be coming from the "keeper/clip" in the back of transmission . Is there a way to stop the leaking??

Are you sure it isn't engine oil from the rear main running down and dripping off the transmission?

Not sure what you mean by "keeper/clip"? Do you mean the bolt and plate for the reverse idler and cluster shafts? If so the vendors sell a "seal" kit for them.

It works well, so well that mine has no oil on it and is rusting...

Helps to drain the lube, then pack mating surfaces and bolt with "right stuff"
sealant.

If ever rebuilding the trans might consider the O Ring style cluster and reverse gear shafts. Works well !

Check to make sure the vent hole in the back of the shift tower is open, so that no pressure builds up in the transmission as it heats up.
