1935 1936 ford pickup bumpers Will 35 Ford pickup front and rear bumpers bolt on to a 36 ford pickup using 36 ford pickup brackets. Someone put 36 car bumpers on my pickup and I would like to change them to the straight pickup style bumpers. I found a good deal on some 35 pickup bare bumpers. What's the difference between the 35&36 pickup bumpers. Thanks

https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...p;d=1582002799 The difference between the 1935 and 1936 Ford Pickup Bumpers are the ends. Just like the Bumpers on the similar model passenger cars, the 35 Bumper ends are nearly vertical, while the ends of the 1936 Bumpers are angled at nearly 45 degrees. On the Pickups, there is no dip in the centre like on the passengers cars. Hope that this helps. |
Re: 1935 1936 ford pickup bumpers Mercman has it right with those pics. Also The outer brackets are different from '35 to '36.'36 dip down at the ends.

Re: 1935 1936 ford pickup bumpers Also, the front bumper brackets on '35 pickups vs. '35 passenger cars are the same, and ditto on the '36 pickups vs. '36 passenger cars. The front inner brackets are the same for both years, on both pickups and pass cars.
I've seen folks force fit '36 bumpers on '35 pu's and pass cars while using their stock/original bumper brackets, and vice versa with '35 bumpers on '36 vehicles. It can be done, either way, but something has to give (bend) as the bumper bolts are fully tightened. |
