Interior piece

I'm working on all the wood for the interior on my 30 Model A. I'm not sure what to do with this piece I have pictured. I don't even know what to call it. It looks like it used to have maybe leather in it or something similar to staple to, but I'm not sure. What do you guys usually do with this piece? Is it available new? Thanks, Stu

Re: Interior piece

Belt and/or tack rail
Used to fasten your interior material
Yes you can buy it, but it's not cheap...why I don't know
Question: Has your top been chopped/lowered? Those welding scars look massive

Re: Interior piece

Tack strips are cut from kiln dried hardwood
But there must be a substitute out there that can be used
I'll be in need of some of tack railing in the future but don't like the idea of forking over the mountain of cash for these pieces

Snyders sells the kit to replace the filler that slides into the metal channel. The original was pressed card stock.

Actually sounds as if you want the piece of wood that fits up in the corner where the slots are. That what you put your roof tacks into, yeah, they are pricey.
