'36 5W quarter window water seal

On my '36 5 window, there is rust just above the running board, right below the quarter window. In talking with someone else, he said it was a common problem with the window leaking.

Sooo… what is the best sealant to put around those windows? I don't want to go to the local glass shop because the stuff they use is heated and designed to never come off unless it is cut off. Do I want the 3M sealant or a Home Depot clear silicone? Or is there something better.

Pull the window and put in a new gasket?

Thanks, does it have a natural seal to it?

Well it worked before. Weather stripping deteriorates over time.

The rear window water drain also goes to that spot. So maybe a bit there.

I used 3M glass bedding compound. It comes in a caulking tube, looks like tar and will not dry completely. Kind of messy but it works.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. With new seals, that should keep it from happening again. I will extend the rear window drain through the floor board as well. I think there is a hole there already.
