Turning coupling shaft-housing Good Evening Everybody,
just finished to install The 2 New u-joints on my 1934 1.5 Ton Truck ( Long wheel base) and have The following Problem. When i turn a rear wheel, the Front coupling shaft housing starts to turn too. Seems like it has contact to The rear U-joint. Instead of using a gasket, i take Silikon-sealer for The rear u-joint Cover Flange & torque Tube Ball cap. All Retainer Capsrews are in place. Any advices/ideas now to aligne The coupling shaft-housing in a good way? Thank's Nico |
Re: Turning coupling shaft-housing If I understand your situation correctly, this is not a problem. When you turn one rear wheel and the other is fixed, the axle will turn the ring gear which will turn the pinion gear, which will is connected to the drive shaft and associated U-Joints.

Re: Turning coupling shaft-housing 1 Attachment(s)
Is it possible the u-joint is a little big and rubbing on the coupling shaft housing??

Re: Turning coupling shaft-housing You get it Bob, but how is it possible?
Did the U-Joint have different outer diameters? My Idea was to Place a thick gasket to „move“ the coupling shaft housing a Little Bit more to the front? |
Re: Turning coupling shaft-housing As far as i know, should the coupling shaft housing Not move at all, when the propshaft is turning inside, Right?

Re: Turning coupling shaft-housing The housing should not turn. Do you have the spring behind the front u-joint
that pushes the coupling shaft back? Bob |
