53 Ranch Wagon wheel studs So, I found out that the front wheel studs are swedged. Are the rear the same or are they pressed in? Flathead engine.
Reason I am asking, is because when I purchased the Ranch Wagon there were no rear drums on it. I am replacing the wheel bearings now, and looking at the wheel studs, they appear to have the same bulge at the base as the front studs have. So, if I buy brake drums for the rear, will they just slide on without interference from the studs? |
Re: 53 Ranch Wagon wheel studs So, looking at my axle flange, it appears that the wheel studs are swedged to the flange like the front, but without the drums. I don't know if the drums were cut off, or they are not part of the swedge. I do have to replace a wheel stud, so I guess I will cut the swedge to remove the stud, replace it with a splined stud, and then get the new drums.
