Rear spring center bolt I noticed my new tie bolt has a considerably thicker head than the original bolt I pulled from the spring pack. Should I file down the top of the head to be the same thickness as the original? Seems like if I used it as is it would hit against the bottom of the trunk floor before the spring fully seats in the crossmember.

Re: Rear spring center bolt So we know where we are at, approximately how thick is the head of the new bolt? It has been a while but I thought there was enough room for a slightly thicker head. How about a picture?

I ended up finding a new bolt I had on hand for a 26-27 Model T rear spring. This one matches better to the original one.
