What year stakebody trucks used powerhouse generators
 

1928 stakebody truck. Friend has one. Shouldn't he use powerhouse if he wants it original. Thks john

Yes, and he could use the 3 brush or the 5 brush, as they both look identical on the outside.
The cutout mounting was moved from the side to the top during 1928, but the top mount is most common.

Powerhouse variants (P1, P2, P3) were used generally until July 1929.

Long Type Generator variants (L1, L2) were used beginning October 1928 through end of production.

There was a period October 1928 through July 1929 when either a Powerhouse P3 or a Long Type (L1) cold have been used.

This from my now superseded judging standards. But this one of those determinations which is unlikely to change.
