32 door handle D-nuts???? One of the doors on my 32 Tudor is missing the two D-nuts that the outside handle attaching screws thread in to. As they are almost impossible to access, does anyone have a suggestion on securing them? There is NO room to get anything in that spot. Thanks!

Re: 32 door handle D-nuts???? Maybe a rivnut.

Re: 32 door handle D-nuts???? There are high strength glues and epoxies that would do the job. GM is gluing the beds of its pickups to the chassis frame, at least in part.

Re: 32 door handle D-nuts???? Can't get in with anything like a rivnut tool. Thanks, tho.
Epoxy is a good idea. Need to figure out a way to scoot it in place and hold it. Paint stick? |
Re: 32 door handle D-nuts???? slip the nut over a thin wire with a hook on the end that will not let the nut fall off. Thread the wire through the handle hole and back out the screw hole. Pull tight.

Re: 32 door handle D-nuts???? Bingo!!
Thanks, Karl! |
Re: 32 door handle D-nuts???? I would use the wire trick as Carl mentioned . Has worked for me in the past. I would use the 24 hour full cure JB weld to glue the D nut on the back side. When done you will probably need to chase the threads with a tap.
