lubing closed driveshaft 39 pickup What is the proper way to lube the driveshaft ujoint at the transmission. Here I was told to pack it with grease. Just did a rebuild on the engine and transmission and don't want to screw this part up. Thanks

Re: lubing closed driveshaft 39 pickup I'd suggest you pack it with John Deere Cornhead grease. That's available at all dealers.

Re: lubing closed driveshaft 39 pickup No need to go overboard with it, your trans oil will work its way in there soon enough.

Re: lubing closed driveshaft 39 pickup Don't forget the grease fitting in the center of
the drive shaft. G.M. |
Re: lubing closed driveshaft 39 pickup What Kube said. I've been doing mine like that for ~ 5 years now. I also shoot some in at speedo gear before I bolt the turtle on. And shoot a little in at the zerk on the clam shell halves.
