lubing closed driveshaft 39 pickup

What is the proper way to lube the driveshaft ujoint at the transmission. Here I was told to pack it with grease. Just did a rebuild on the engine and transmission and don't want to screw this part up. Thanks

I'd suggest you pack it with John Deere Cornhead grease. That's available at all dealers.

No need to go overboard with it, your trans oil will work its way in there soon enough.

Don't forget the grease fitting in the center of
the drive shaft. G.M.

What Kube said. I've been doing mine like that for ~ 5 years now. I also shoot some in at speedo gear before I bolt the turtle on. And shoot a little in at the zerk on the clam shell halves.
