Spark plug caps I noticed today that one of my plug caps didn't seem to be well connected to the plug so I pulled it of and it was internally broken so now I'm concerned about the others.
Do the replacement caps need internal resistance? The setup is an 81A with a crab distributor, 12v -ve earth and Skip 12v coil with multistrand ignition cable. I know that its is likely covered elsewhere but I was unable to find it. Thanks. David |
Re: Spark plug caps 1 Attachment(s)
Assume were talking spark plug wires here. Unless you are concerned about radio interference you do not need resistance wires or any other type of resistance in the high energy circuit. If you are just referring to the end that connects to the plugs (the boot) there are clips that were popular in the early years (if you are not attempting to remain original). The type I like are the Rajah Clips (with solid core Packard 440 type wiring).
The Hot Rod Company has several options for plug wires and ends: http://www.thehotrodcompany.com/shop...y=bsp&first=20 |
