Model B commercial intake manifold

I have a Model B commercial intake manifold that appears exactly as a Model A. The only difference is that it has 1.2 in. never drilled throat. The carb mounting holes are parallel to engine. Has anyone ever seen one like this? I read a post on intakes awhile back, and one like this was not mentioned, or pictured. Any info is appreciated. Thanks Ray

The one that I have is not pictured on that site. It has no vacuum clutch port. It appears exactly like a Model A, only has Model B size throat, again never drilled. This came from a late commercial Model B, as it had the late crank. Thanks Ray

Ray,

I will take the bait. What is a "commercial Model B" (do you mean BB?)? I thought the same engine was used in cars and trucks, of course it evolved over time. How about a picture?

By commercial , I should have said industrial. As were used on combines, water pumps, and other industrial equipment. Ray

A picture would be most helpful.

As I noted earlier, it appears exactly like a Model A intake, only difference is 1.2 inch non drilled throat. I think most Model A guys know what a Model A intake looks like. Yes, I do not know how to post pictures, but would like to know if anyone has ever heard of one, Thanks Ray

Hi Ray,

Here is I think I know of Model B I takes. They have slight angles to them where as a models is curved smoothly. Also the mounting holes are at a slight angle away from the engine if I remember correctly. To me it sounds like bored out A manifold was attached to aB motor. I could be wrong though.

For pictures: go to advanced at the bottom when you want to reply to a thread. At the bottom you will see a line that says something like manage attachments. Click on that and a little window will pop up where you can upload pics from your computer.

I would like to see some pictures too. I have some old combine A engine parts floating around the shop and I wonder if I may have one in the pile. I have a governor that mounts off the timing gear and a different exhaust manifold. I wonder if there is an intake with it all. I will go and look after work and see if I might have one.

I will try to get some pictures, and see if I can get them posted. Outward appearance is exactly like a Model A. Only difference is throat bore size, it measures 1.2 in. It has not been bored, as it is still rough cast on the inside. It is curved like a Model A and the carb mount is not angled outward, but parallel to block. Ray
