running boards problem solved

i posted a question a few days ago about removing the old rubber from running boards. i got no response so i experimented a bit. i clamped the board to a metal table with half of it hanging off(don't try this on the boss ladys kitchen table) i used an old plumbing torch, a propane torch or even a heat gun might work. as i heated from underneath i used a scraper to literaly just roll the old rubber of easily. i just kept moving the torch around as it softened up the old rubber that was hard as a rock at room temperature. i thought i would pass this along.

Thanks for posting. I'll keep that in mind if I ever run into that issue.

IF you can "puddle" it, Dip Carb Cleaner will soften/remove the rubber. I once dropped a wheel cylinder rubber cup in the bucket & overnight, it grew to 3 times its' normal size!!!:eek::eek:---DON'T try it on your Tomato plants:eek:
