365 Days Of A https://www.fordbarn.com/wp-content/u.../2010/11/a.jpg
Some of you fellas might have seen this already, but I hadn't... and thought I would post. Essentially, it's a blog from a young man that has decided to park his late model cars for... To read the rest of this blog entry from The Ford Barn, click here. |
Re: 365 Days Of A That is very neat indeed! His grandpa will be proud. What city is he in? I read a lot of the blog and all I saw was a road trip through Chicago. I was also having trouble with the videos. It should be one hell of an adventure for sure. Best of luck!

Re: 365 Days Of A That's a familar scene I see on every tour but not every day. Good luck to the driver.

Re: 365 Days Of A I've driven classics exclusively for much of my life (now in my 30's). The last modern car I owned was several years ago, and I sold it because it was incredibly boring. I've owned only three cars in my lifetime that were newer than the 1960's, and I'm glad they are gone! Everything I own now is between 20's and 60's and they do daily duty from errands to commuting to multi-thousand-mile road trips.
No radio? Easy! I haven't had one for many years and I don't miss it either! If you can't drive without a radio playing then you're driving the wrong car. ;) It's safe to say that I will never buy another new vehicle (anything after the 70's is new to me) so long as I live. |
Re: 365 Days Of A I agree that new cars are boring and not as fun to ride in as cars fron the 20's to 60's. I'm waiting for my modern cars to wear out so I can get back to my old Studebakers for daily driving. For many years I only drove my 1950 and 1952 Studebakers. The only problem is all the road salt that gets dumped in the northern states.

Re: 365 Days Of A I don't drive my '40 everyday, but close. It gets as good or better gas mileage than my late model truck and is way more fun to drive. I put almost 6K miles on it this year (basically early spring til now). I know that is not a huge number of miles compared to some guys, but does show that I am not afraid to drive it. In a way, I wish I would have left it stock height. It didn't look as cool (in my opinion) but it was far easier to drive.
Even trying to be careful, I always feel like my cars go downhill fast driving them regularly. It's just something I have to get over. Cars were meant to be driven and not just sit and gather dust in the garage. I give this guy credit for going all out 365/7 days a week in a Model A. Inspires me to not only drive more, but keep some sort of journal about experiences. One day someone will care. ...well, hopefully anyway... |
