35' Truck Headlight Rim Problem

Working on installing the lens rings. Purchased new ones and cannot get the latch to go over the retainers. I compared them to an original, the only difference I can find is the length of the latch bracket. I found that the original is approximate .100 longer than the new ones. The original latches fine. Did I receive wrong parts? Anyone have any suggestions.

Did the new parts come with a tag that says "Vintique"?

Sometimes its a label that has the seller's label plastered over the top of it.

I have had the glass installed inn them for a while, I did find the wrapper from the glass and they were from Vintique. Not positive they were from them also. They were purchased from a NY supplier. Is Vintique the only supplier of this part? Suggestions welcome.

I had the same problem with rings for my 36 truck from Bob Drake. I removed the rubber gasket in favor of cork, bent the fork on the bucket a little, and did some filing on the mating surface of the bucket to get them to go on. Repop parts often require a little persuasion to fit.

Keep trying. You will get them on.

Thank you all, I ended up bending out the tabs some, to get the latch past the end of tab. The bracket that Bob Drake is is using is the same as a Model A part. The length to the pivot point is short by .100. If was corrected by the supplier no one would have this problem. I also did use the cork seal on the reflector.
