Freeing window regulater handle

1 Attachment(s)
I bought a handle for a closed car window regulator at a swap meet recently. However, the knob on the handle does not turn like it should. I soaked the knob end in PB Blaster, but it didn't help. I suspect the knob swelled a little being pot metal. I hate to use heat, as I think it might ruin the handle. Does anyone have a way to allow the knob to turn?
Thanks for any help,
Rusty Nelson

Re: Freeing window regulater handle

Put it in a small can knob end down. Fill with your favorite penetrating oil until the knob is covered and put the can on a shelf where you will be able to find it and let it sit. Check it in a month or so. Patience and penetrating oil may be your best tools. Tim

I am in no hurry, so I think I will do as Tim said, leave it in penetrating oil for about a month. If that doesn't work, go to acetone. If that doesn't work Evaporust.
Thanks for the suggestions.

My 29 did not have the handles and I like you bought some and they were the same very stiff did as Mitch suggested and in no time those suckers spun like a raise horse. I am sure the oil and acetone would work also but the evaporust desolated the rust inside the handles, no more problems and it seemed liked they posited up better also.
