Hi folks

I know many on here like mmo.

I been reading a lot of positive results with "Engine Restorer". One guy on you tube did before and after results and one cyl went from 45 to 120.

Any one try this stuff on a flatty?

These are different types of products I believe, somewhat like comparing apples and oranges.

Hey JS hope all is well.

I'm one that typically don't use supplements like mmo. I know the two are diffrent. In watching YouTube I was pretty surprised by the results of this engine restorer.

I was wondering if anyone on here has used this stuff and saw an increase in compression.

I've used it with good results on more modern engines (70 - 80s engines). In the short term it worked well, my concern would be long term and only time will tell. There is no substitute for a rebuild when required, but it did perk the engines up for a quick fix!

No issue at all. Started using it when my flatty had about 72k on it and added it every 2-3 oil changes to now at 112K miles. (reminds me that I have to pickup a can for this next oil change)

So, the product name is Engine Restorer, who makes it and in what form does it come, can, bottle, etc. ??

IMO it won't hurt any engine. Back in the 60's there was an abundance of these kind of "snake oil" additives around. But again, they just "mask" a bigger problem. JMO

Nothing like STP, which is just a viscosity enhancer that reduces oil burning. The Restore product really does work. Just like 51 Merc says it makes a significant difference in not only oil consumption, but compression as well. The product itself is not very viscous. My wife's jeep had an old 327 Chev in it that was a real hog. The restore brought compression up, and it ran well for over a thousand miles. You do have to repeat treatment, but it works. Why I don't know, but my results were great enough to risk you guys calling me a kook ;)

I've used Engine Restorer in the V-12 in my '39 LZ (it was rebuilt in 1952). It did cut down on oil consumption (not including leaking,:eek: which I have resolved for the most part ;)) and did restore some noticeable power, especially in 2nd gear...:) I've got to change the oil in the LZ this weekend so, I'll be putting some more of the 'snake oil' in. along with MMO in the top oiler and gas tank...
