48 coupe- fuel tank filler pipe hose installation question

What is the best way to install the fuel pipe coupling hose?

The fit of the new hose is tight and I assume hot air to heat it might help getting it on, but what is the best sequence to use?

The new tank is in the car but I can remove it.

Should I grease the inside of the hose?

Does the hose go on the tank first or should I assemble it to the filler pipe first and then make it up to the tank?

Thanks

I have found it easier to place it upon the filler tube first and only then over the tank inlet. I soak the end of the hose in tepid water for a minute or two to soften it up a bit.

If you can't get it on by warming it, the upper filler neck unbolts fairly easy, that's how I had to do mine.

Filler tube out of the car. Put the hose on the filler tube first, then put the filler tube in the car and made it up to the tank. Attached the filler tube bracket after the tube was on the tank. Tightened the clamps and viola!
Hot water did the trick. It's in. Thanks.

Check the length of the hose with the original before installing it. Some suppliers just send a piece of hose from a coil without regard to the need. Hot water will soften the hose. A spritz of silicone spray also can help.
