28 Sport Coupe body dimensions and alignment Hello gents happy new year. I am getting back to work on my car now. I decided to keep the original subrails and repair them instead of ordering a reproduction set. Just ordered a bunch of parts, door handles both inside and out, rods, latches, front leaf spring with reversed eyes, body mounting blocks and pads, cowel shims, hinge pins etc. I read through vicks website on how he put his body back together. I don't have a jig so I advised it is best to assemble everything on the frame.
Does anyone have dimensions for the sport coupe to line the body and doors up? I have searched the forum and found dimensions for a roadster. I am told that I need to start with the cowel and work my way towards the rear. So once the cowel is bolted, hang my doors and then once they swing smoothly attempt to mount the body with rough tacks so you can easily adjust? Never done this before so I am just trying to absorb as much information on the subject before the parts arrive. Thanks! |
Re: 28 Sport Coupe body dimensions and alignment Hi Hardtail. Fit Your Rad and Hood also. Then Start at the cowl to get the hood fit and work your way back.

Do dimensions for sport coupe body exists fellas? I have searched through historical sites but can't find the body dimensions on the inside for the sub frame. Thanks. |
Re: 28 Sport Coupe body dimensions and alignment Make things fit to your body and your frame . Just my opinion !! These cars have had 80 years of abuse /rot/repair. Fit the hood to the rad and cowl line up the subframe to the frame and start putting the body back together .
