Put a piece of rubber hose for a splice.

You don't want a virgin. Those with experience are much more FUN.

Places that repair air conditioners have sleeves that can be soldered. Or bring it to a radiator shop - you could drive there if you don't mind getting your firewall all dirty.

Make friends with the guy and he'll likely fix it while you wait and do it for free.

Give him a ride afterwards.

Hey all part of the fun being the caretaker of these 83+ year old ladies... I keep in mind what caretaking I might need if I'm blessed to last that long...

oh righ forgot about those! rubber hose will work and last for awhile but may be too thick and put stress on the radiator fins. the above mentioned solder job would be the ideal permanent fix.

It shouldn't be too hard to solder in a complete new tube.

If you want to repair this tube, and looks are important, then you could buy a short piece of thin brass tube from a hobby store and solder it to the inside of the pipe and solder the splice seam smooth. You'd have to clean the inside of both pieces very well so the solder sticks to them as well as the brass splice.

so someone duped you into thinking you were getting an 83 year old virgin lol

however you decide to fix it atleast use the hose for a temp fix or youll have a real mess when the fan slings it all over the place
1/4" fuel will work and fit on tight

Use black plastic heatshrink tubing.

Nope!!! But I plan to make sure the lower half is not plug before I slip on a sleeve to join them. I know the upper portion is clear....found out when I put in that quart night before last. I didn't notice it then where the overflow exited from.

Re: Broke radiator overflow line...........

The plastic sleeve is a bit too small. Have to get a size larger next time out to fix the overflow line. I did get the radiator fluid changed. What came out was quite dark green and heavy. Almost looked like straight Anti-Freeze. A small amount of rust was at the end. Filled it to the baffles.
