signal lite devise.

I can't seem to remember to self cancel my turn signal devise. Does anyone know if they still make the self canceling style, with the little wheel that runs on the bottom of the steering wheel?

I had the same problem. I can't help with the self canceling, but if you install a Piezo Electronic Tone Buzzer across the terminals of the flasher you won't forget it anymore. They are cheap on ebay or at Radio shack.

http://turnswitch.com/Turnsignal.htm And you can use a microswitch. I hid my microswitch under the shift knob.

I put a buzzer from Radio Shack on the flasher to ground. My Lincolns have self cancelling if the turn is sharp enough. But for slight turns of less than 45* or lane change on the interstate, it is easy to leave them on. These buzzers are polarity sensitive. Red wire to ground if you are using the stock pos ground system.

I had my wife hit me on the head with a rolled up newspaper every time I forgot to cancel the turn signal. Only took 3–4 rides before it became second nature to turn it off. A cheap and effective solution, but unfortunately I now duck involuntarily whenever making a turn.

Here is a pic of what I have on my 36.It has the rubber wheel. Not being reproduced.Often similar ones on EBAY or HAMB where I got this.Make sure it has 7 wires.

I found a flasher that has a buzzer in it. Really loud, you will turn it off as soon as you can.

Often the problem is that the rubber "tire" on the wheel that rides the bottom edge of the steering wheel has crumbled and fallen apart. Use a large "O" ring to fill the groove, then adjust the switch by loosening the mount clamp and pushing the switch up so the rubber is in firm contact with the wheel.

Bob,
The wheel on mine is pretty hard from age so only cancels 1/2 the time. I will have to find an O'ring that works. Thanks for the tip. John

I also installed a buzzer, but found it was sometimes too loud and adjusted the volume by placing a piece of electrical tape on the opening. And I thought it was my get invention of the year. The Model A group has a turn signal set up which will self cancel after so many seconds and it's adjustable 6 or 12volt.
