Oil to use in Spindle bolts - Australia
 

Hi
Just hoping that an Australian T'er can suggest a local oil that is appropriate to use in the spindle bolts on my T. Or the viscosity that should be used.

Assistance appreciated :)

use a thick oil like 600 gear oil, it will stay in place longer and lube better, use the stuff the suppliers sell and not an extreme pressure gear oil as it tends to be hard on yellow metal. I'll bet Penrite has what you need. Plain old motor oil works just fine also. but needs to be done as the owners manual suggests ( before each journey).

Chain saw bar oil seems to be the general consensus up here... seems to stick to the surfaces better than motor oil. I use whatever OFTEN, usually 60 or 70W motorcycle oil. Im anal about oiling tools or whatever and like to spin the vice closed with one finger instead of struggling 1/2 turn at a time. Don't forget the spring shackles, parking brake cross shaft (hidden holes in frame!) and even the brackets the brake rods slide through, even the carb and timer linkages, AND THE TIMER. I usually lubed the whole system every other time out, pretty religiously. ws

Kangaroo oil might work. The outback certainly has plenty of them. Just pull them off the Kangaroo catchers off the front of the cars and boil them. (this produces oil)

I use diff oil 80W Seems to stick really well and easy to get -Karl

I always dose gear oil with STP.
