Why I have a Model A

My two grand daughters (5 & 7) came to visit for a week. In that week, I burned about 10 gallons of gas in my '39 John Deere B pulling them around our development and to the swimming pool in a flat bottom boat on my utility trailer. I was going to put hay in the trailer but they love the "boat ride" so much, I think I'll leave it that way. I took them for ice cream and several rides in the Model A and they LOVED blowing the horn and waving at people.

If I ever wondered why I own and love the old stuff so much, I was reminded in the last week. Take a kid for a ride in your Model A (or on your John Deere) and you'll be creating a memory that will last a lifetime. I know it did for me...... many years ago.

Wonderful story, it is amazing to me kids just see theses old cars and just smile and stare... My wife and I wave and hit the horn.... It's good to get these cars out for everyone to see and think what the world was like back then. In ways these are like ghost's from the past... Only real!!!!

As for the convertible Mustang, I have to admit to already having the convertible.... a '67, Big Block (original) Corvette convertible. The grandsons seem to like the Corvette but the girls definitely favor the Model A and the John Deere. Go figure.

I'm just glad they want to be around grandpa and grandma.
