stripping gas tank

I have a solid 29 gas tank that needs the surface removed inside and out. I was told to have it dipped or boiled. Do I need to coat the inside with anything after I have this done?

The trouble with coating it is, as they change the formula for gas you don't know if it will attack the coating.

Re: stripping gas tank

if you keep 4 oz. of MMO in 10 gallons of gas, the inside of the tank wont rust

That's the problem! In most cases if the coating is failing there is no easy way to get it all off.
