Re: 1953 Mercury How hard is it to pull the horn and steering wheel on these cars without wrecking it? I'd like signlal lights on my Merc but don't dare try removing the wheel without knowing what I am getting into.

Once you have access inside then remove the center nut. Then using a wheel puller and the two 5/16" bolt holes, remove the wheel. The horn ring comes off with the wheel. |

Re: 1953 Mercury So pulled the switch today guy in town says he can try and fix it. I also checked ford switch same part except for ford has a piece that pawl rides on and it has a longer piece sticking up for pawl to attach to. Also I was looking the other day I think a studebaker switch Is the exact same as the Mercury.
