Re: V-8Times Can't speak to the V8 Times, but our military association magazine went out and goes to various bulk USPS facilities depending on their final destination. It's all over the board when the magazines arrive with no rhyme or reason as to the locations. Furthest away sometimes gets it quicker than the near by states.
|
Re: V-8Times From previous discussions about late USPS delivery, seems like most delays are down at the local level. Local post office, or even your local delivery route.
|
Re: V-8Times I've inquired to the club & printer with them saying it's the usps fault. I rejoined 2 months ago & never got a roster, magazine or any reconition of anything. Was told by the printer 3 weeks ago that my magazine was on the way. NOT !! I did get an email from the pres. of the club & 2 other emails all blaming the usps. I never got Jan/Feb. Who knows......

Re: V-8Times mfirth - I verified that your V-8 Times magazine with your address card was included in those delivered to the USPS, so yes, it is "in the mail". Many other car clubs and most magazines are having the same issues with the USPS. I sure wish there was something we could do to expedite the delivery.
As an EFV8 Club member, the digital version is available to you for free so you can look at the magazine on a computer while you wait for the paper copy to arrive. The March-April issue went on-line today. |
Re: V-8Times I am having a heck of a time with the USPS as well. The regular delivery person is great. The subs? Not good. But most of the problems seem to be with the hubs, or the local Post Office. mfirth, you are not alone. Your V8 times may have been delivered to the wrong address for that matter. That has happened to us.

Re: V-8Times Not here yet in NW PA.

Re: V-8Times March April is now out on Digital.Got it yesterday.

Re: V-8Times |
Re: V-8Times Got my March-April digital issue yesterday also. US mail has always been unpredictable. Most members who live outside the USA experience bigger problems. The digital issue has been a blessing to us.

Re: V-8Times Model51 and TomC750, thank you so much for the kind replies. With the Mar/Apr comming, I'll probably never see the Jan/Feb in paper form. Thanks again !

Re: V-8Times Mike - Never fear, your Jan-Feb issue will eventually arrive. Give it another month and if it doesn't come, let me know and I'll get a replacement issue sent to you.
|
Re: V-8Times Well, the March-April 2025 issue showed up in Minnesota today.
Doesn't answer the question where is the January-February issue, but there's hope that something (besides bills) made it through the Postal Service. |
Re: V-8Times Got my March/April on 4/05, I think I will go the digital route when my renewal comes up.
|
Re: V-8Times My Jan/Feb showed up Saturday.
|
Re: V-8Times I did get my Jan/Feb last week......happy camper...

Re: V-8Times Guys, keep in mind the USPS is not a very efficient organization.
The V8 Times is sent out in a timely matter but at media rates, it can by postal regulations be held at any postal facility until it is deemed ready to be delivered. I suppose it could be mailed at first class rate but most of you would not entertain the even so much as the thought of the additional costs. A current, real-life experience? I mailed a letter, first class from the Milwaukee area to Indianapolis. It arrived yesterday. That took thirteen (13) days almost to the hour from the time I dropped it off the local PO to the time it was delivered 350 miles away. Bottom line in my opinion? Stop ragging at the club. They are doing their job. Also, I hope for your sake there is more going on in your life to keep you busy vs. waiting at the mailbox for a magazine. |
Re: V-8Times Correct on all points. I am no longer a member, but was always aware if their mailing method. I too, have marveled at the quarterly brou-hah-hah. I thought it might have been on ongoing tradition.

Re: V-8Times Thanks Kube.
It's nice to get some positive feedback. |
Re: V-8Times Our son recently went to work for the post office. From what he has told us they are having problems finding people that want to do more than the bare minimum. I think any young person that wants to make the extra effort will excel in today's work environment. Recently I bought some parts from a fellow in Vermont, and they were here in a day and a half. Not sure I could drive there that fast. When I was in the Ford business, we would pay UPS to overnight finance contracts. Usually took 2-3 days. Had several times where they were lost altogether. So, they aren't immune either.

Re: V-8Times Got my Mar/Apr yesterday....Yay. Thanks again Model51. Love the Merc on the cover.

Re: V-8Times mfirth - Got mine yesterday too.

Re: V-8Times Got March- April; still no Jan- Feb Times
|
Re: V-8Times You guys are doing well.
From the last 6 issues of The V8 Times I have had to request replacement copies of the first 4 of these and the last 2 issues I have still not received so will be requesting replacement copies of these. Prior to the last 6 issues there were no problems. And yes my subs were and are paid up to date. |
Re: V-8Times Still have not received my replacement copies for the Jan/Feb & March/April issues although they were supposed to have been sent on the 5th May.
Has anyone received their May/June issue yet? |
Re: V-8Times You might want to contact the person responsible on the V8 Ford Club Website .I think Michael Driskel took over for Dave when he retired. It all had to be shipped to TH.
|
Re: V-8Times May/June arrived in MN today.
Membership cards are included-- I got 2 -- must be a lost twin out there someplace. deuce lover: There is great explaination about the V-8 TIMES and mailing and recieving issues in the May/June issue. While that doesnt help those that are waiting, they can create a UserID and password to the Membership side of the V-8 Club web site and view the current issue online. |
Re: V-8Times Try this for contacting them, hope this helps.
Got my May/June on Tues. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/Contact_Us.cfm |
Re: V-8Times I will leave it another couple of weeks.
A person living at my same address using the same physical post box has had no problem with receiving his copies so far and his May/June issue will no doubt turn up as per normal in the next few days. It appears that only about half the members in NZ are receiving their magazine. Of course no magazine means no membership card or membership renewal notification. |
Re: V-8Times 9 Attachment(s)
It's likely a US or NZ (or both) postal system problem.
It's very frustrating on the other end of the process to get the V-8 Times magazines printed and sorted then properly delivered to the US Postal distribution centers as required by US Postal regulations only to have some delayed for a long time and others essentially lost for no valid reason. We are doing our best to replace lost copies of the V-8 Times but there aren't many extra issues printed so supplies are limited plus the extra postage fees are an additional expenses to the club. Attached are copies of parts of pages 5-7 of the May-June issue with the article on creating and distributing the V-8 Times and the policy on replacing missing issues. I had to copy it in pieces so you will have to either print them and paste them together or read the parts separately but all the information is there. |
