I miss Purdy too! He has helped me with matters concerning Pertronix coils and Simmons carburetors. Anything he says about Model-A's I take as gospel.:)

I also sent him 3 emails in the last month all to no avail. I also sent messages to two of his Model A friends with no response. Does anyone know his town or city of residence in Alabama. Also if one of our technical experts can decipher anything from his email address I would be happy to confidentially share same. Somebody should know something. Thanks again, Wayne

Last I heard from Purdy was end of March 2021. The following is part of our conversation via PM. I have written Purdy several time since with no response.

Last time he logged into Ford Barn was in August.

He lives in Alabama but I don't know what city.

I don't think this is Tim's OB. The OB stated the person died Aug 10. He made a post on Aug 14, see below.

Brent, last I talked to Purdy was in March 2021 and have not been able to contact him since. The last time Purdy logged in to Ford Barn was August 11 2021.

Sorry Y-blockhead, I missed the early date. However August 11 2021 is a day after the OB says whoever passed away.

Pretty sure that obituary wasn't him unless he'd moved up here recently. I recall communicating with him many years ago and seem to recall him living down around Montgomery, possibly in the area west of Montgomery. I'm a member of the Model A club based out of Montgomery so I'll make a few phone calls this afternoon and see what I can learn.

ETA: I spoke with a friend this afternoon who is a past president of the Central Alabama Model A Ford Club and he said the name wasn't familiar with him. He's 79 years old and been fooling with Model A's since he was a teen so either Tim did a good job of flying under the radar or I'm mistaken about where in the state he lived. My guess is that I'm mistaken, but I'll continue to see if I can learn anything.
