I don't drive my old Fords every day, but I do drive old cars every day. My '25 Model T is basically stock and performs weekly duties as a lumber hauler, grocery getter, etc. It's just too slow to commute to work with! When I finish getting my '39 pickup on the road, it will see near daily use between my wife and I. It will be mostly stock like yours. The newest car I own is a '69, and all my cars are period correct if not bone stock. I have no interest in new cars.

In the eighties I had a totally stock beautifully restored 49 Chevrolet "Styleline Deluxe." One day my modern car had to go to the dealer so I drove the Chevy to work. I liked driving it so much that I parked my new car and drove the 49 every day for over a year.

On one of my jaunts back from lunch I was amazed to pass a young woman driving a 49 Chevy Fleetline.

Blinkers?... Blinkers?.... We don't need no steenkin' blinkers!

My 39 std. is my daily driver also. It a great car and I enjoy driving it.It only has 20,000 miles on it. Not ssure if that actual. Sure a nice driving car anyway,

Your car brings back lots of memories.My dad purchased a maroon 2 door sedan just like yours just before World War II and drove it throughout the war. It was a nice car and some relatives were jealous.He rebuilt the engine once himself and tires were main problem. Tires just were not good back then and a trip involved lots of tire repairs.The jack was seldom used, he usually found fence posts to use as lever and one us kids would put blocks under axle.After the war he traded it for a 41 Ford and I learned to drive in that one and owned a 41 for a number of years till about 10 years ago.Thanks. Oh man, I've known about Ryan's driver since he got it, through the other msg. board.

My daily driver (modern VW) just puked its automatic transmission, and MY '39 Tudor is waiting in the wings, just needing a new gas tank and rewire to be roadworthy.

I showed the picture and title of this blog to my wife, "See, Honey, the Universe (and Ryan) is telling me something."

She just said, "You've been looking for it, that's all."

This is my everyday driver....been using it for 20 years. Very reliable, and enjoy every time I drive it. Fortunately I live in a fairly small town....

My daily driver is my 47 fordor, but we have had this 39 since the early seventies and it's our favorite of all the early fords. I don't think they ever made a better looking car. This 39 has the oringinal engine and trany, it was restored in the seventies but still looks pretty good, Chuck.

i drive my truck about 4 days a weak, to work and to the grocery store, and some times to side jobs. i do electrical work and it is actually a good truck to work out of. you can reach in the bed to get stuff out !

I have finally got mine back on the road after 4 years of changes.
Been having troubles with the c4,think its ok now.
This was a long rebuild for me.Found a good 35 frame,went with Heights ft end,Mercury engine,c4,and 8inch granada rear.I had 4.44 gears before.Now with 2.78 gears,I cruise at 2000 rpm at 55 mph.I must have put about 400 miles last week.I hope to go to burrington vt next month.

Here is our 39 . Lots of fun !!! We drive it everywhere . My Wife and I actually just got back from having a Burger & fries . She is all stock except for the obvious and I put a set of gears in the rear to be able to get down the freeway . All original interior , car has 90K on it . Motor has never been apart ! She runs really well . A few weeks ago we went on a 4 day 700 mile trip . Fun Fun !!

The irony of this post? I developed a pretty nasty tick in the flathead on my way home. Sounds like I have a lifter backed down. My first signs of mechanical trouble in 10,000 miles and almost a year of daily driving.

I drove my 29 Model A Tudor Sedan to work one day. I did not get much work done for the people at work wanting to know all about it and I actually had some people I did not even know wanting me to take them for a ride. I though I was at a car show with all the questions.

Jake H ... Thanks for the compliments . We have such a great time taking the 39 where ever we go . For all of us with the non-running projects out there (luckily our 39 runs but I have a project 32 that has been off the road for 40+ years ) anyway , we should all remember how much fun these cars we Love are to be in ,drive and enjoy and hopefully great web sites like this one will keep us motivated to keep moving forward to our goal of enjoying what we Love . Jake H and others(including me) , get those cars you Love on the road and drive drive drive , anywhere and everywhere . They are worth all the bloody knuckles ,sore backs, frustration and time spent !!!!!!! :D:D:D

I drive my burgundy '40 probably a good solid 4 days a week. I just bought a black '40 standard over the weekend and am now getting ready to lower it so it will sit like my burgundy one. Once I get the black one lined out, I am putting the burgundy deluxe up for sale.
I love getting new toys.

I assume by "old" you mean pre-'54, but my '61 Falcon is my transportation car. I didn't like how much new rust appeared last winter, though, so I'm hauling out my dad's old Mazda B2600 next month.

The Pontiac is the current driver, But my 40 deluxe sedan should be up and going very soon... Also gonna drive it to Austin in the spring for the Roundup. So Hopefully I can see Ryans sedan again and get pics of both..

We use our 35 Pickup every Monday to deliver Meals on Wheels. We usually have 25 stops and the people look forward for us to come with there meal.Sometimes we drive a Model T pickup. I have taken the 39 2 door sdn a couple of times. But the 35 Pickup is the best to use.

I drive a 1958 ford fairlane, everyday, everywhere. Which is really why Im building a new motor.

It's my DD. has been for the past three years, and was for 3 years during HS back in the 80's.

I wouldnt trade it for ANY new,plastic, cush, loaded, efficient, quiet, reliable,ugly vehicle on the planet. Ever.

I've been driving my '37 59a powered fordor as a daily driver. I dont care how hard it is , no a/c, no pw this , no pw that . It is the greatest ride in the world, my other great ride was a '67.......

Just drove my '61 to the airport this morning. Business commute. Did last week, too. Took it to the Home Depot last night on an errand. More and more, it is becoming my daily. But compared to yours, mine is a late model.

My wife tells me, "That car of your makes a big statement."

Hi Guys,Here's my everday driver for over 30 years[apart from the odd rebuild].Also a practice to posting a picture.37 pickup [obviously]59a with edelbrock heads,450 holley,8t cam,5 speed box,4.11 diff.Bought as a basket case in 78 and constantly getting tinkered with ever since.These pics are this May getting firewood from a mates farm,I did several trips,some with a trailer of wood as well,The old girl drives better with a load.I get about 10mpg around town,22mpg on a trip if I dont open the second throats [boring],On a recent club run I got 18mpg with some extended fanging down the motorway at speeds up to 80mph when I then considered my licence and backed off a little.I love this barn site.Cheers Tony.
