The tooling cost to Ford was not worth the low production # projected , some of smaller parts they may have made & possibly the tub.?

Australia Ford made everything from the cowl backward on site, I was surprised they couldn’t make the cowl too. Or, why not use the same dimensions that Ford used in North America? The 32 roadsters used the same dimensions for the outer tin on both continents. Why’d they change in 33?

In an effort to save money, Ford Australia decided to use modified 1932 Ford Sedan bodies for their 1933 and 1934 Ford Sedans.
Check out this Australian 1934 Ford Sedan with a 1932 Ford rear Door fitted.
You will notice that all mouldings line up, the only exception being the cut-out for the back wheel, on account of the longer wheelbase.
Check out the wide moulding that only appeared on Australian 1933 and 1934 Ford Sedans.
The Australian 1933 and 1934 Ford Coupes, Coupe Utes, Roadsters and Phaetons all had narrow mouldings, like the USA models got.
That means that the while the front doors will interchange between the Sedans and Coupes, the mouldings are different between these two closed car bodies.
If your restoration project is missing a front door, there are a total of 4 front doors to chose from.
You had better know which is the correct one for your car.

The measurements between the cowl and the rear door shuts on the Phation are the the same as usa ones ,the front doors are also the same in length .The rear doors are a 1" shorter in length, the center pillar is wider and takes up that 1",The doors are shorter in hight to make up for the sill and pie cut angle that Mercman alluded to .The C pillar support is a casting as opposed to a stamping .
