Barn Find fired up today
Yesss I did start my latest project today first time in about 25 years by pouring gas in the carb & tromping the foot feed. It did sound GREAT for an overhead valve 1955 O--------e Rocket 88. But was not near as exciting as when I fired my 59-ab in my 37 pickup the first time, had to do a complete overhaul on the PU but 6 qts of oil, new battery, new plugs & wires woke the 1955 88 up. I did drive the 37 to town to buy some parts for the 88. Life is just full of fun. ~~Walts37~~

See Walt, those GM products ain't that bad! That Olds was a great car in its day. I drove my son's `57 Pontiac today. We are definetly spoiled with our late model cars...

Re: Barn Find fired up today
You guys will never hear me "bad mouth" a GM product! I've got a '50 Chevy PU sitting in the garage right now waiting for it's older Ford step brother to come home! Did anyone other than me get a warm fuzzy feeling looking at the rear wheel of that Olds and wonder how many times that full wheelcover was popped off to change a flat? Looking at the marks on the rims, I'd say more than once!

Re: Barn Find fired up today
I still remember the first time I fired my barn fresh a, it was only last year. It was parked in the barn in 71 body was removed from the chassis and the engine was pulled. We bought it and brought it home. I pulled the pan and valve cover and didn't find any sludge or metal pieces. Threw the engine in the chassis ran a nurse tank and fired her up. Other than a head gasket, some point cleaning and a carb rebuild she's still the same
