Default Original Muffler

I have just purchased a low milage original 1931 Model A 400. How do you determine if the mufflier is original? What is the difference between an Aries mufflier and an original? Thanks Bill Edstrom

Where is the seam located on the muffler, top bottom right or left side? The one on my mailtruck may be original, the seam on mine is on the bottom. It being unrestored, It still surprises me when I find original late 31 parts on it, since the postal service scoured the junk yards when new parts were unavailable, the postal service didn't de commission them until 54. And the consensous is most had more than a million miles on them.

Hey Joop, been trying since last night to post pics of the date stamp side of the diamond engine, one of the many engines that were in the MT. And some scans of a 34 hoof catalog. Won't load, have a tchnical issue, I'm going to try the old techy tried and true fix, gotta turn it off and back on again. Hope that works
