Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
Just ordered some of the LAST in stock repro bumpers! Inventory is emptying fast from the dealers. Apparently the mfgr source has quit, and we are back to 60 yrs ago. Same as our interiors. Newc

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
They were discontinued a few months ago. 46-48' and 1940's are all that's available

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
What year are you referring to, if 1932, that’s been a strong rumor for at least last 6 months.

I think he is doing a '34 pickup. There is a NORS Drake 34 coupe sedan on Ebay right now.

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
I have been purchasing part's that I really don't need for a while and putting them "in stock" just because of this.

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
I just called United Pacific. They stated they HAVE 1932 bumpers in stock. (If you need them consider contacting me).
Drake Reproductions apparently are in the process of discontinuing any parts that they do not make themselves. |

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
Only if you have both year's brackets, front outer and rear, as they are as different as the bumpers themselves.

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
I was checking 32 bumpers and went to Speedway. They have I assume the bumper they make for about 350.00 and the United Pacific bumper for about 100.00 more. I wonder of the UP bumper is worth the extra?

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
DavidG, did not know that. Thank You.
Guess I will have to dig out the 35/36’ good book I have . Purchased 36’ . Came with Drake 36’ repro front and rear brackets. Rears appear to be shorter than original to use without spare tire. BTW, I usually fall asleep with the 35/36’ book on my head. |

Re: Repro BUMPERS--- latest GONE
After buying my 36 pickup last fall I have been overwhelmed at the parts that are not available! Almost all of the parts and supplies are still listed with most of the usual vendors but all say "out of stock" After 5 or 6 months of checking, I believe that most will not be available again. As for the bumper dilemma, rechroming prices have skyrocketed in my opinion. I do not think hoarding parts helps the situation but sure do understand why guys will do it. In fact, they will probably be rewarded greatly if they don't need them and decide to sell someday, if they don't wait too long!
