Roller Cam in 351 Windsor
Does anyone know if I change the roller cam in my 351W do I have to change the roller lifters also like a flat tappet or can I just install a different profile cam? Edelbrock or someone else would try to sell the combo but I would like to know if it's really needed. Thanks

Re: Roller Cam in 351 Windsor
If you have the factory roller lifters in good condition, you can reuse the lifters on a new cam. Roller lifters don't mate to a certain lobe like flat tappets do.

Re: Roller Cam in 351 Windsor
So if I'm hearing you correctly, I could put roller lifters on a new flat tappet cam? I have a re-man 351, I'd like to go the roller route, but I have a brand new cam already purchased, Thanks, Mark

You can't use roller lifters on a flat tappet cam. Different cam profile. Call Comp Cams, they'll tell you what you need.
