Rear spare mount question
My '31 Deluxe Coupe w/rumble seat was hit from behind 60 years ago when I was in high school. Now I'm restoring it but can't remember how the inner curved panel/outer curved panel/rear spare tire support are supposed to fit together. I've replace the rear cross member and subrails, but the spare tire mount seems flimsy. Is anyone aware of any assembly drawings or other helpful hints?
Thx. |

Re: Rear spare mount question
OK, here's a picture that shows what should be inside of the rear spare tire carrier. This should answer your question.

Re: Rear spare mount question
Rusty is showing the horizontal brace used for a trunk configuration, with the rumble seat used with the curved inner panel you need the banana shaped brace. Part #1970 Spare Tire Support . Page 10 Brattons cataloge.

Re: Rear spare mount question
I misread the initial post. Dave is correct for a rear mounted spare tire for a car with a rumble seat. Sorry.
