Default 28 ccpu color

I have this cool 28 ccpu and am wondering about the colors. Should the bed and radiator be red to match the cab. Looks good to me like it is,

Most commercial 28s had black radiator shells and fenders.
Of course, it's yours, so whatever you like...

How about brown fenders.

I'd go red on the bed and leave the rest as is.

Henry went body color on the bed (including the wood that shows inside the bed) and black on the radiator shell like it is. I like the red (and would not repaint it) but it wasn't one of the standard colors for 1928. Also the wheels came black from the factory. I like the truck an mention these things only because I think you are asking how it would have been painted from the factory.

Nice to see one with a proper black radiator shell and headlights. Leave it alone.

Leave it alone unless you repaint the cab too. You'll never get the bed to match the cab.

Not true in the Northeast.

Any good painter can match the paint just fine.

Just fine and perfect are two different things. Since I'm around paint everyday I can look at cars and tell where paint has been blended, or where something has been repainted and not blended. You could get it close, but you stand 10 to 15 feet back you're gonna be able to tell it's been re-painted. Not to mention if the cab is done in laquer and is cracking or showing the typical signs of old laquer. Then you put a new coat of red on the bed, it's going to stand out. Pick up cabs don't have much sheetmetal to them. If you're going to paint the bed, you might as well do a paint job on the cab too. It wouldn't take that much more time, and the end result would be better in my opinion. But I've been known to be a perfectionist.

Huh, I stand by my original comment, but from the likes of your posted resume you appear to know it all...
