Which black color for wheels
I was at a swap meet today & talked with powder coaters about doing my wheels in black. The 1st question they asked is "Which Black" They have gloss, semi-gloss, dull, and flat.
I am thinking semi gloss because the gloss looks too "Wet" I am going to have whitewall tires Any suggestions |

I AGREE, why even paint ANYTHING, if it's NOT gonna' SHINE??
One guy's car was TOO shiny for some car show, so he bought some cheep wax to "dull" it down????? And you think I'm "NUTS"???? Bill W.

Re: Which black color for wheels
Depends on the wheel condition. Pitted calls for a less gloss while pefect wheels are usually high gloss, IMO.

Re: Which black color for wheels
The factory dipped the wheels in the same black enamel as the fenders and splash-aprons... so, I would vote "glossy", or "to match the fenders".
If your car does not have a briliant gloss to it, you might want to try semi-gloss... |

Re: Which black color for wheels
Gloss but make sure you tell them you want UV resistant or they will eventually dull. Most powder coaters don't use it because most of their customers are industrial and those parts are not exposed to the sun.
